Welcome to Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast!Our charming bed and breakfast resides in the heart of the Uptown/Garden District, convenient to the French Quarter via the Streetcar Line. This quiet residential area, the largest historic neighborhood in the United States, is only minutes from all the sights and sounds of this vibrant city.The Avenue Inn features original high ceilings, hardwood floors, and period furnishings throughout. All of our rooms are unique and are individually decorated. Guestrooms offer private baths, telephones with voice mail, and cable TV. A delicious complimentary continental breakfast is served in the dining room or on the Creole-style veranda (weather permitting) each morning to start your day. Description of New Orleans Area:Nestled among the centuries old oaks on the famed St. Charles Streetcar line, this 1891 Thomas Sully mansion offers turn of the century charm to match its historic location.Attractions in or near New Orleans:The French Quarter, Central Business District, Morial Convention Center, Tulane and Loyola Universities, Riverwalk shopping, Lafayette Cemetery, the D-Day Museum, Audubon Zoo, The Aquarium of the Americas, and The Louisiana Superdome, are all within 2 miles of this historic bed and breakfast inn. Access to these destinations is easy via the streetcar that stops at our front door.Recreation and Activities in or near New Orleans:Jazz, nightlife, museums, swamp tours, plantations, amusement parks - and of course, world-class cuisine and restaurants - make New Orleans the ideal vacation destination.
